Most vloggers/bloggers leave Deaf Read because of comments. Those comments are getting out of control. Vloggers/bloggers should come back again and close their comment.

Anonymous, I did not leave DeafRead because of v/bloggers' comments but how they approve the posts. At the same time, I also said my door is still unlocked.
You were not singled out because you did something bad, actually the opposite! If you 'google' ASL Vlog or Vlog ASL, your website is top 2!!! Joey Baer is synonymous with ASL Vlogs, and you leaving DR (for now) is major news that can cause heavy drinking and a debilitating depression. 8-)

I will just enjoy my summer and see how things go in few weeks/months.
I also wanted to recognize/acknowledge that DeafRead did something good by adding new guideline. However, I am still hesitate - it takes some time I guess.
This unique post propels me to type forward here. Apparently, there are some addicted deafread/deafvlog people out there. People were seriously upset and depressed. And you both created a work of ART on that.
Satire and humor are important for our souls. And Deaf satire by codas, hearing people!, but very much close to the heart of the deaf community. Something oxymoronic that the general publick will have hard time understanding. Mahhvelous work, ben and andy.
The Deaf community just experienced a greater convulsion than ever before inside the Deafread/Vlog world (the netdeaf community). The new netdeaf community is a gorgeous window for the outside world (hearing) to look inside "us". Those studying the deaf community in universities all over the world can now incorporate what they see in the internet into their courses and books.
With so "publick" status the DeafRead and vblogs achieved, the bloggers and commenters have become public therefore bearing more responsibilities. I hinted to Joey that it was the same in the hearing world. Its new for the deaf community. Bloggers, especially at posting at successful aggregators, now bear public responsibilities such like the TV news anchor-people and newspaper reporters bear in the hearing world.
CODA brothers, I tell you that I saw codas, in front of me, talk/sign about you! You are hot and join the ranks of coda artists. More codas come out in the public. codadiva - keith wann - joining others such as half/half, alan abba, arlene m, bonnie and more.
Continue in your excellent work. Making dvd and getting money, wonderful. But you know why u do all this blogging and acting . . . it is out of both of your hearts . . .
HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But what's even more funny is how some people are actually posting SERIOUS responses to your vlog?!?!?! Geeeeeee. People need to lighten up!

P.S. I think this is the first vlog I've seen Ben NOT laughing in his scene...altho I saw him chuckle when Andy was "throwing up" - so that's not gonna count.
Despite the comedy takeoff, this vlog has a serious underside: our Hearing friends, CODAs, admirers and compatriots are disturbed when they see us DeafRead bloggers engaging in ugly diatribes and leaving the stage because of them.
Let's all of us remember our effect on other people when we write. Thanks, CODA brothers!
This is hilarious! To think that the issue against DeafRead made you drink and be depressed is already too much to handle. hahaha
I believe censorship is a very touchy issue and DeafRead must be careful in handling this. I sometimes wonder how they evaluate posts that are placed in front or in the Extra page.
I'm a hearing person from the Philippines blogging for the deaf although I'm not a CODA. I appreciate your stand defending the Deaf community. Keep it up guys. :-)
This was funny, but there was a strong undercurrent of truth. The massive explosion of destructiveness and reputation-trashing has been incredibly painful for many of us. The part where Ben was lying on the sofa, saying, "I'm DEPRESSED!" rang very true. What happened has hurt me deeply as a long-time member of DeafRead.
Joey is right, though - many, many people have left DeafRead before he did, though they didn't say so publicly. We've lost good bloggers, vloggers, and commenters. I'm thisclose to leaving myself because of certain individuals and because I don't feel DeafRead is being consistent with their guidelines - still.

DR brightened my life when I started to read DR... I do not think I will ever leave DR. Right now, I "cool down" with reading DR.
Surely, we all learn something from DR within a few months...together.
