John Critser says...

We Deaf need to all get cochlear implants so we can steal all the interpreter jobs and earn ourselves a $200/hr salary.

Oh is that why there has been a rise in CI implants?

LMAO! You both already killed me as deaf person!

Good ones!

You rock! I love your sense of humor and enthusiasm. I shared your vlogs with my CODA kids. They are fluent at ASL and they love your vlogs. I think you help to bridge between the hearing world with deaf world. Thank you!

Nice. But you forgot a few important ones.

(1) Deaf people love it when you stop signing as soon as they take their eyes off of you. They can't multitask, anyway, so there's really no point in you wasting your energy if they're not looking at you.

(2) Deaf people do not mind when you constantly glance over to your PDA while you're interpreting to make sure you're not missing any new e-mails.

(3) Deaf people are completely understanding when you show up to meetings extremely exhausted and feel that it's necessary to take 20-second power naps while you're interpreting.

(4) Deaf people love it when you contribute jokes of your own when people are making jokes during a meeting.

(5) Deaf people do not mind when you show up 15 minutes late for a meeting because it took the new barista at the local Starbucks 20 minutes to get your coffee right. It happens.

(6) Male Deaf people prefer that you wear revealing tank tops because it gives them the opportunity to engage in conversations with their male co-workers, although those are limited to winks, gestures of sexual innuendo, and the mouthing of the word, "WOW."

(7) Deaf people do not mind if you lie down and take a nap in the back of the room when the second interpreter is interpreting. It's OK if you snore, too, as they can't hear you, anyway.

(8) Deaf people love the glitter of your jewelry. It captivates their attention. The more bling, the better. Especially around the fingers.

(9) Deaf people do not mind if you try to interpret while wearing a brace. It makes it even easier to understand you, especially when you're finger spelling.

Dang! I should have taken ITP (Interpreter Training Program)instead of engineering school cuz it looks so easy job for me (as a deaf person) and makes lots of $$$.. Wish you made this vlog long time ago so I would have changed my major... Damnnnnn!!!

Good Vlog and loved every seconds of it!! Thumbs up

As a recent grad in interpreting, I thank you. Now I know what I've been doing wrong so far! Goodbye black, brown, and navy shirts...hello neon yellow tank tops!

Seriously, you guys crack me up. I agree with Michelle. Go on tour!

Brilliant! It's reassuring to know that I am not the only CODA in the world who thinks this way. Or is it?....
